A beautiful hardneck creole garlic from Spain. Creole garlic varieties are hardy and smaller than other varieties of garlic. They grow best in the warmer regions of the country.
Burgundy to deep red coloured smaller size cloves, packed full of pungent aroma, and sweet and spicy flavour. The flavour improves even more over time when it is stored.
In Ajo Rojo, the antioxidant properties of garlic are even higher due to the presence of anthocyanins, the phytochemicals that produce the red color in the cloves.
Being a hardneck type it will produce edible scapes (flowers) which should be cut to help the plants produce larger bulbs. Stores well.
